“The point is that you all can do it – provided you are motivated to run those hard yards for 3-5 month period leading up to your scheduled exam date.” |
Sarma Vadlamani prepared for the PMP® exam for 4 months and succeeded in pass the exam in first attempt. Below is his lessons learned:
My PMP® Preparation Plan
- Purchased PMP® Exam Prep: Rita’s Course in a Book for Passing the PMP® Exam, considered it quite difficult
- Being a visual learner, PM PrepCast™ helped to understand the PMP® materials
- Read The PMP® Exam – How to Pass On Your First Try (5th Edition) by Andy Crowe to make connections with the PMBOK® Guide guide and conceptualize the processes and process groups.
- Spent 2 hours in early morning and 2 in the evening for weekdays and at least 15-20 hours over the weekends for PMP® preparation
- Took all the practice exams available (approximately 2700 to 3000 questions in total)
- Attended PM Study Boot Camp
- Stopped studying on the day before the examination to relax and enjoy uninterrupted sleep.
- Make sure to have good time management during the exam
- Don’t leave any questions unanswered. Guess the answer for difficult questions and move on
- The PMP® exam is hard but it can be done
