“If you’re studying for this test, take practice test after practice test. Knowing the generic material alone isn’t enough.”

Marky Mark took the CAPM® test one year earlier than the PMP® exam. He failed the CAPM® but passed the PMP®. He took 3 months for the PMP® preparation (around 300-400 hours).

He relied on the following study materials:

Mark watched the PM PrepCast™ and read the PMBOK® Guide Guide plus Rita’s PMP® book chapter by chapter for the first two months. During the third month, he took as many practice exams as he could. He would also try to identify his weak areas and do more practice on these. His scores ranged from 65% to 90% and he managed to get proficient in every area except Closing (moderately proficient).

Mark considered Rita’s PMP® book was most helpful. Mark also advised PMP® aspirants to do as many practice exams as possible.
