“I purchased the Rita’s book. I later felt that this book wasn’t working for me and switched to the Head First book. The lesson here is to not be afraid to change course if something isn’t right for you.” |
Marc Greenstein passed the PMP®. Below are his lessons learned.
- Joined PMI® and downloaded the PDF file of the PMBOK® Guide.
- Purchased the Rita’s PMP® book but later switched to Head First PMP® book. The Rita’s book just did not work.
- Phase I: Concentrated on one chapter/topic each week with the exam prep book and prep course, then followed by reading the same chapter/topic of PMBOK® Guide.
- Phase II: Re-read the PMBOK® Guide and reviewed some of the topics. Took a total of 9 practice tests – 8 through the PM Exam Simulator and 1 through the Head First. The exams on the PM Exam Simulator were similar in overall difficulty to the actual PMP® exam. Got around 70% to 80% correct in the practice exams.
- The most important thing is to be flexible enough to change if something is not working for you. In my case, I just switched the exam prep book.
